They work when hung on a bar in a rack but are awkward to use. If you have a power rack a better solution is to buy dumbbell holders from Titan or another power rack manufacturer.
When trying to do Decline Dumbbell bench press - the prohibiting factor is always trying to get the dumbbells in place. It is no longer a problem.I attach these SPOTTER HOOKS to the dumbbell, hang them on a bar and slide right under. Then, when finished - rather than the awkward dropping of the weight - I can hang it back in place for the next set.Love these.
Works well for heavy dumbbell presses. No more smashing my knees with 95 pounds because I donβt want to drop my nice dumbbells.
I like how sturdy the product is, and they will hold quite a bit of weight, when used how they are intended, it does not work properly. These dumbbell holders have a bar in the middle with a strap that goes around the dumbbell itself. This makes holding the dumbbell very difficult, because it makes the handle of the weight 3x larger than it needs to be. Anyone with regular sized hands or smaller will have a very difficult time using this product.
These work well for holding a pair of dumbbells off of your barbell. It helps to be able to lift more safely by not having to pick up your dumbbells off the floor instead you can place them as needed on your rack. At first I was concerned about them falling off the hooks but they do cup a good amount of dumbbell and hold them stable. The are Velcro to help secure them even better to the barbell.
